About Us

Kimberly Rae Pottery is built on the joy of creating with our hands as well as exploring the relationship between art and the world around us. Our philosophy is that the connection we have to the outdoors and to each other can be enhanced in the objects we use in our everyday lives. We also believe that anything consumed out of handmade wares simply tastes better and brings that sense of connection into our homes.

All of our pieces are hand thrown and built with stoneware, are one-of-a-kind and are made with the utmost care and attention to detail from our basement studio in Seattle.

Kimberly is an adventurer, dog mom, human mom, climber, skier, runner and long term personal trainer. She moved to Seattle from the Midwest to be closer to the mountains and able to pursue her passions. She got her start working with clay on her honeymoon in Greece, when a multigenerational family of potters invited them in and gave them a lesson on the wheel (no they were not naturals). Complete strangers before that day, they laughed and talked late into the night. The generosity shown by that family and the strength of human connection accompanies us every time we sit down at the wheel. We try to infuse that feeling as well as the unique beauty of the Pacific Northwest into all our creations.

Our craft is a labor of love and we are passionate about creating functional art that is used often and can be enjoyed for generations to come. Thank you for being here with us!
